Knowing God’s Word, Building His People
Rev’d Dr. Pete Sanlon
The founding minister of Emmanuel Anglican is enthusiastic to help people get to know God better. As Director of Training for the Free Church of England, Pete helps people explore future ministries. He enjoys days out with his wife and children, and is a good loser at competitive board games.
David and his wife, Val, have lived in Tunbridge Wells for many years. Prior to retirement David worked as a ship’s officer and then in ship management ashore. He enjoys creating artwork and time with his grandchildren.
Patrick works as a civil servant in London. He is married to Kate and they have two children. Patrick's role as warden involves supporting the day to day running and development of the church.
Tristan works in city finance and attends a church in Canterbury. He serves as a trustee to Emmanuel and helps us manage our finances. In free time he enjoys the countryside, reading and spending time with his family.
Children & Youth Ministry
Susanna has co-lead Sunday Club for five years and she is very excited about launching the children’s ministry at Emmanuel! As with many busy Mums, Susanna is constantly juggling work, family and church commitments! During the week Susanna is also involved with our toddler group, First Steps. She also hosts a home group aimed at Mums with pre-school children. In what little spare time she has, Susanna has been trying to learn tennis… with limited success!
Safe Guarding Officer
Val is married to David. She supports our church in many ways, including as our Safe Guarding Officer. Val also very much enjoys time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren!
First Steps Toddler Group
Kate used to work as an English teacher at a boys' school in London and is currently a stay at home mother of two. She is married to Patrick and loves reading the newspaper when she gets the chance! Kate is passionate about ministry to children and parents and she heads up our toddler group, First Steps. She enjoys spending time with her family and is always keen to welcome people to church.
Pam is a retired optometrist having worked for two independent family groups for 40 years. She is married to John and they have two grown-up daughters and a granddaughter. Having taught Sunday School for many years, Pam is really excited about the launch of Emmanuel's Sunday Club and is already busy preparing for the first term after Easter! When not at church, Pam enjoys gardening, photography and family time.
Angela is married to Jim and they have two grown up sons. During the week you may spot Angela on the roads, as she works as a driving instructor. She enjoys spending time with her family and is looking forward to welcoming you to our church soon!
